Vivo V20 SE is basically a cheaper alternative to the company’s recently launched v20. It stands on the same thin and light platform as the v20 however, some cost-cuttings are done. In this article, we will be talking about the Vivo V20 SE price in Nepal, its specifications and features. How much sense does it make over the vivo v20 over the rest of the competition? Let’s see.
Vivo V20 SE overview
This phone is a pretty average-at-best with main focus in the design department. It is one of the lightest and slimmest phone available in the market. Although, design is not the sole category to judge a phone and something is certainly lacking in that department.
Design and Display
Design of this phone is decent in its price range. The plastic back hosts a shiny gradient which is a fingerprint magnet. The triple camera and a flash is housed in a rectangular camera module. The use of shiny plastic is something disappointing. As this device lays its focus on the looks mainly, it should have come with a glass back. To the flip side, it is very ergonomic and lightweight at 7.8mm thick and 171g heavy.
The display is fairly large 6.44″ 60Hz AMOLED with a waterdrop notch. The AMOLED tech used is a step down from Super AMOLED panel. Moreover, the front camera is housed on a waterdrop notch which is completely outdated. Hence the display of this device is all-in-all underwhelming!
Vivo has launched this new phone with an old chip, the Snapdragon 665. This chip is downright unacceptable in this price range. Even the Samsung which is infamous for providing bad chipsets has provided Exynos 9611 in this price which at least is better than Snapdragon counterpart. Day-to-Day task will not be a problem but it will suffer while multitasking or even moderate gaming.
The camera is nothing groundbreaking. It features a trio of 48 MP main, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth lens. The selfie is a regular 32MP camera. Suggesting this phone solely for the camera will be tough because the competition offers a better or equally good camera setup.
While making the phone super slim and lightweight, the battery capacity takes a hit. However, it is not to say that the battery capacity is too low, it’s just that it is low compared to 2020 standards. The battery is a sizeable 4100maH cell coupled with the 33-watt fast charging. The company claims 62% charge in just half an hour.
The phone runs Android 10 out-of-the-box with FunTouch OS 11 on-top. The FunTouch OS 11 though highly improved, is still somewhat half-baked and seems jittery at times.
Vivo V20 is a disappointing phone at its price. It has a good design and overall ergonomics, but that’s not it. There are many other categories where a phone should excel. This phone lacks in display and processor. Even the competition like the Samsung A51 offers a modern display, far better cameras and decent ergonomics. Hence, I would not suggest anyone to buy this phone.
